Jason first met Meryl at a coffee shop in Los Angeles. Shortly after, they went on an 11-mile hike, talking about life and travel along the way. At the end of the hike, Meryl said something to the tune of: "I really enjoyed spending time with you… I have three options for how we can see each other again:

1. Change and come with me to my friend Dana’s garden party.

2. We part ways, I’ll give you my phone number, and I hope you call it one day.

3. Or, we could meet up for dinner tonight."

Jason chose option 3, and the rest, as they say, is ancient history.
